Malfunction

In aviation, a malfunction refers to a failure or abnormal behavior of an aircraft component or system that affects the normal operation of the aircraft. Malfunctions can be caused by various factors such as manufacturing defects, wear and tear, improper maintenance, or environmental conditions. Malfunctions can range from minor issues that do not affect the safety of the flight to critical failures that can lead to accidents. Pilots are trained to identify and respond to malfunctions through checklists and emergency procedures. Maintenance personnel are responsible for detecting and repairing malfunctions during routine inspections and scheduled maintenance. It is important to address malfunctions promptly to ensure the safety and reliability of the aircraft.
