Drag

In aviation, drag is the force that opposes the motion of an aircraft through the air. It is caused by the friction and pressure differences between the air and the surfaces of the aircraft. There are two main types of drag: parasitic drag and induced drag. Parasitic drag is caused by the aircraft's shape and surface features, such as the fuselage, wings, and antennas. Induced drag is caused by the production of lift and is proportional to the lift generated by the wings. Drag is an important factor in determining an aircraft's performance, as it affects its speed, range, and fuel efficiency. Pilots and engineers use various techniques to reduce drag, such as streamlining the aircraft's shape, using winglets, and minimizing surface roughness.
